About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior JavaScript Developer to join our team at Lorien. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of our full-stack JavaScript systems and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and optimize full-stack JavaScript systems and components, including React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Scaling and Performance: Scale and optimize web frontend and interaction with API layers to ensure high-performance and low-latency.
  • Team Collaboration: Work to increase team cohesion by being a collaboration-first person, including helping upskill peers, engaging in pair programming, and providing high-quality code reviews.
  • Complex Problem-Solving: Resolve high-level, complex software challenges and optimize system performance.
  • Process Implementation: Implement and follow software development processes, including Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Documentation: Document software design, code, and test procedures.
  • Estimation and Planning: Participate in the estimation of software development projects.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior developers and assist with their professional development.
Requirements
  • Commercial Experience: Significant commercial experience in the web stack of React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Low Latency and High-Scale Approaches: Demonstrable understanding of low-latency, high-scale approaches such as WebSockets.
  • Distributed Web Caching: Thorough grasp of distributed web caching tools and techniques, e.g. Redis, etc.
  • Software Development Best Practices: Demonstrable understanding of fundamental software development best practices, architectures, and patterns.
  • Code Quality: Proponent of high-quality code and able to demonstrate methods and practices to achieve metrics like high unit test coverage.
  • Modern Deployment Methodologies: Awareness of modern deployment methodologies.
  • Performance Optimization: Expertise in performance optimization of web technologies.
Desirable Skills
  • Additional Experience: Any additional experience including React Native, MongoDB, or Hazelcast.
