Critical Care Nurse

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Critical Care Nurse to join our team in the Adult Critical Care Unit (ACCU). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of clinical care to critically ill patients, working closely with colleagues to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
Main Responsibilities- Deliver high standards of clinical care to critical care patients, adhering to clinical guidelines and trust policies.
- Maintain effective communication between clinical areas, multidisciplinary teams, and service users, utilizing accurate documentation and consistent with Trust policy and wider legislation.
- Function as a proficient clinical practitioner in the critical care area, serving as a credible role model and providing support and deputising for the senior sister/charge nurse in the effective day-to-day management of nursing team members.
- Coach, teach, and mentor junior nursing staff, promoting personal leadership skills and contributing to the development of a positive and supportive team culture.
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Registrant with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Adult Critical Care Course
- Mentorship course
- ILS/ALS provider
- Specialist relevant clinical course
Desirable criteria include a leadership programme or equivalent, a degree or working towards a first degree, and relevant critical care experience, with a minimum of 2 years post-adult critical care course.
