About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician to join our team at AG Barr, a leading manufacturer of soft drinks and other beverages. As an Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the maximum availability and reliability of our equipment, while maintaining the highest levels of health and safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake planned preventative and corrective maintenance across all equipment on site, recommending improvements to maximize efficiencies.
  • Diagnose problems and implement permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence, working closely with equipment users to understand their needs.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement changes to improve processes and reduce downtime.
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with safe working practices and factory hygiene standards.
  • Produce detailed written reports and records of maintenance activities.
Requirements
  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in a Mechanical/Electrical engineering discipline.
  • ONC/BTEC Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical engineering discipline.
  • Time served or apprentice-trained in a related field.
  • 18th Edition IEE regulations certification desirable.
  • Previous experience in an Engineering/Maintenance department, preferably in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Ability to fault-find, diagnose, and correct Electrical and Mechanical equipment faults.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of initiating and implementing continuous improvements, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma techniques.
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems and PLCs, preferably Siemens.
  • Strong IT skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive and positive can-do attitude.
