AWE is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Trainee Health Physicist to join our Materials and Analytical Science group. The successful candidate will have either operational or academic experience in health physics, dosimetry, environmental, radioactive waste management, health and safety, or associated fields.
About the RoleThe Trainee Health Physicist will play a key role in delivering our customers' needs, working in a multi-disciplinary environment that involves both office-based and practical elements. The ability to communicate with people from a wide range of backgrounds is essential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide legal and technical advice to internal and external customers regarding health and safety in relation to working with radioactive materials and other sources of ionising radiation.
- Contribute to the development of world-class professionals through a two-year training scheme, combining completion of training modules and on-the-job experience.
- Work collaboratively with the Radiation Protection and Dosimetry Group to provide expert advice and support.
