Community Dentistry Support Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Staff Nurse to join our team at Livewell Southwest CIC. As a Special Care Dental Nurse, you will provide high-quality care to patients with special needs under conscious sedation. Your key responsibilities will include working closely with dental operators to deliver patient care, including clinical procedures and chair-side assisting.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- NEBDN Qualification/City & Guilds NVQ3 or equivalent in Dental Nursing.
- NEBDN qualification in Dental Sedation Nursing.
- Registered as a Dental Nurse with the GDC.
- GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) English and maths.
Responsibilities
As a Special Care Dental Nurse, you will be responsible for:
- Working closely with dental operators to deliver patient care, including clinical procedures and chair-side assisting.
- Providing advice to patients/carers about dental procedures, including pre/post-operative advice and management of complications.
- Checking surgery equipment and reporting any faults.
- Assisting with the decontamination/sterilisation of equipment and instruments.
- Preparing the surgery for patients using knowledge and experience to select the appropriate equipment/materials/instruments.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including ongoing training and development opportunities.
