Project Manager Job Description

Ultra is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead our projects and drive business success. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and managing projects to deliver strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute project plans to meet defined time, budget, and quality objectives
  • Create and maintain project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and project Management Plans
  • Identify and engage stakeholders, and develop project Communications Plans
  • Develop strategies for effective stakeholder engagement and contingency planning
  • Manage project scope, costs, and integrated change control
  • Facilitate communications between internal departments and manage project team resources
  • Acquire, develop, and manage project team resources, and mediate problems/issues encountered by team members
  • Manage external-facing customer relationships and support Procurement to establish and maintain key supplier relationships
  • Conduct risk management planning, identification, analysis, and response planning
  • Ensure project records are maintained and made available in accordance with project management processes and company policies
  • Deliver projects in line with Ultra contract and quality requirements
  • Present project status reports and project finance reports to the Head of Programmes
  • Recommend strategies to impact mid to long-term business achievements through program opportunities
  • Provide support on bid work and contribute to operating plans in support of the function
  • Provide mentoring to others in the organisation

Requirements:

  • Holds Project Management qualification (PMI, APM or global equivalent)
  • Education to Degree Level, or equivalent relevant qualifications/skills/experience
  • Action-oriented person with strong customer focus, excellent leadership skills, and experience or qualifications in Continuous Improvement methodologies

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in a safety-regulated environment would be advantageous
  • Focusses on generating specific outputs and outcomes required by the organisation, as part of a project
  • Provides project team with leadership, planning, and coordination through communications
  • Provides written communications and communicates in real-time with the project team using meetings and verbal or non-verbal cues
  • Leads project planning activities and directs the creation, approval, and ongoing change control of the project plan
  • Progressively elaborates high-level information into detailed plans throughout the project life cycle
  • Manages project team to meet project objectives, guides and evaluates performance, and mediates problems/issues encountered by team members
  • Ensures project members understand what is expected of them and what they should expect from one another
  • Identifies, addresses, and resolves differences between individuals and/or interest groups

Essential Functions:

  • May be required to travel internationally
  • UK driving license
  • Ability to obtain SC Clearance if required
