Job Description

The Campaign Coordinator will play a pivotal role in leading the volunteer recruitment and capacity building processes within the Liberal Democrats' Twickenham and Richmond constituencies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement effective strategies to recruit, train, and retain volunteers across the two constituencies, ensuring a motivated and well-trained network of deliverers, canvassers, and clerical helpers.
  2. Collaborate with the Treasurer/Election Agents to manage campaign budgets and finances, ensuring prudent allocation and responsible expenditure.
  3. Provide key input to literature schedule planning, copy editing, design, proofing, and approval, as well as print and distribution of regular leaflets, direct mail letters, and emails to members, supporters, and voters.
  4. Receive on-the-job training and mentoring support from our highly experienced Campaign Consultant and contribute to Campaign Strategy and Operations within our developed and successful Campaign Committee structure.
  5. Plan and coordinate member and volunteer training, volunteer and capacity-building action days, and constituency events that promote Liberal Democrat policy and achievements across Richmond upon Thames and the SW London GLA Constituency.
  6. Design and deliver an ongoing programme of communication to champion Liberal Democrat policy and achievements, fostering engagement and enthusiasm among members, volunteers, and the wider community.
  7. Coordinate and support membership recruitment and engagement strategy to achieve the Local Party's membership targets, working closely with Local Party executive officers and ward teams.
  8. Liaise with local stakeholders, including ward teams and external partners, to coordinate events and activities that promote the Liberal Democrats' vision and values.
  9. Able to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and effective time management skills.
  10. Able to design and write compelling content and attractive campaign literature, working collaboratively with our Print Society, external printers, and fulfillment houses.
  11. To work effectively with Liberal Democrat staff from the London Region, English Party, other local parties, and HQ as required.
  12. Able to travel around the area, either by own vehicle or public transport, with mileage refunded and/or Zone 4/5 monthly Oyster Card reimbursement.
  13. Familiarity with GDPR, data protection, and other laws and regulations relevant to political campaigning, including Electoral Commission and IPSA guidelines.
Requirements
  • An estimated salary of £27,500 - £30,500 per annum, depending on experience and reviewed annually.
  • A strong understanding of Liberal Democrat values and policies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with volunteers, staff, and external partners.
  • Familiarity with campaign budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
  • Able to design and create engaging content for various channels, including email, social media, and print materials.
