About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Graduate to join our busy SHEQ team.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities for this role include:

  • Preparing project-specific risk assessments, method statements, rescue plans, and lifting plans.
  • Conducting competent inspections of PPE, FPE, and RPE.
  • Engaging with workers to promote a positive safety culture.
  • Providing SHEQ compliance, advice, and guidance on applicable legislation and industry best practice.
  • Carrying out inductions, training, and toolbox talks.
  • Monitoring, internal auditing, and reporting on safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) performance for yard, logistics, and project operations.
  • Promoting good practice relating to health, safety, environment, and quality management.
  • Supporting supply chain activities and raising SHEQ standards.
  • Assisting in the investigation and reporting of accidents, incidents, and non-conformances, and making recommendations for corrective action.
  • Undertaking statutory inspections, internal audits, site SHEQ inspections, and PAT testing.
  • Ensuring the effective implementation of policies and procedures across the business.
Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Experience of working within the construction industry, particularly in working at height, scaffolding, construction hoists, mast climber work platforms, and plant.
  • A degree in Health & Safety accredited by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or one of the following qualifications: NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety, Professional Membership IOSH/IEMA/CQI.
  • Computer literacy, including email, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and report writing skills.
  • Problem-solving, leadership, and effective communication skills.
  • Experience of supporting a business contract and/or providing support to a professional function.
  • At least 2 years of business experience.
