Role Overview
This is a freelance Commissioning Editor role for our journal Concussion, which publishes original research, reviews, and commentaries addressing concussion assessment, management, and long-term implications. The Commissioning Editor will be responsible for outreach and commissioning articles, managing manuscript submissions, communication with authors, editorial tasks, and conducting research.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate manuscript submissions and publishing processes
- Develop and maintain relationships with authors and experts in the field
- Manage editorial tasks, including manuscript review and editing
- Conduct research to identify article topics and authors
- Work independently and remotely to meet project deadlines
- Ensure attention to detail and organizational skills in managing multiple projects
- Utilize strong research skills to identify and commission high-quality articles
Requirements
- Proven manuscript coordination and publishing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience in editorial tasks and research
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree in a life sciences subject
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in neuroscience or a related field
