Adecco is delighted to be recruiting for our client based in Workington who are looking for a permanent Mechanical Fitter to join their team.
Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our client's team in Workington. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and effective maintenance of the facilities within the scope of the mechanical discipline.
Key Responsibilities:- Execute the mechanical maintenance tasks as required, including both planned and emergent work.
- Assist in the development of Predictive and Preventative Maintenance Routines (PMR) and write appropriate routines so that others can carry out the task.
- Contribute to Root Cause Analysis of failures both formally and more generally through discussion with others and the Maintenance Supervisor in order to improve the reliability of equipment.
- Ensure the Mechanical section of the Workshop Tier Board is up to date, clearly identifying both planned and breakdown work, indicating the current status and who is working on the task.
- Recommend and monitor workshop spares holding, ensuring any parts used are replenished.
- Record all work in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (MMS) currently MP2.
- Assist where required in the training of others on site in order to increase the skills and knowledge of the workforce in order to better execute their roles.
- Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner and without harm to others or the environment, in line with Company policies.
- Provide cover for the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor during absences and at other times as required.
- Served a recognised apprenticeship scheme or equivalent training.
- Experience and knowledge of rotating equipment (centrifugal pumps, mechanical seals etc.)
- Experience and knowledge static equipment (flanges, pipework, valves, PVVs, RVs, flame arresters, etc.).
- Knowledge of predictive techniques.
