Financial Planning and Analysis Lead Job Description

Austin Fraser is seeking a talented Financial Planning and Analysis Lead to join its finance team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for driving financial reporting, performance analysis, and cost control initiatives.

About the Role:

The Financial Planning and Analysis Lead will play a critical role in providing financial insights to senior management, enabling informed business decisions. You will work closely with department heads to monitor budgets and control costs, ensuring internal controls and accounting procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting & Analysis:
    • Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
    • Analyse financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for cost improvement.
    • Provide financial commentary and variance analysis to highlight key financial performance indicators.
    • Reconcile Balance sheet accounts and ensure there are no discrepancies in the reports.
    • Support the preparation of annual year-end audits.
  2. Cost Control & Efficiency:
    • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to reduce expenses.
    • Work with department heads to monitor departmental budgets and control costs.
    • Ensure internal controls and accounting procedures are adhered to for accurate financial reporting.
  3. Management Support:
    • Provide financial insights to senior management for strategic decision-making and business planning.
    • Work closely with other departments to interpret financial data, enabling better decision-making.
    • Support the Accounts Assistant with any queries.
  4. Systems & Process Improvement:
    • Develop and implement financial systems and processes to improve efficiency.
    • Identify and implement improvements to existing processes for more efficient financial management.

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £65,000 - £75,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.
