We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automotive Mechanical Technician to join our client's team in Basingstoke. The successful candidate will be responsible for the disassembly, inspection, repair and reassembly of mechanical, electrical and trim components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Component Inspection and Repair: Inspect and assess damaged components, determining the most appropriate repair process to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Workshop Organisation: Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Quality Control: Perform thorough quality checks on completed components, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Safety Protocols: Ensure all safety protocols are followed, maintaining a safe working environment for colleagues and customers.
  • Communication: Liaise with colleagues and management to ensure timely completion of repairs, maintaining excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and documentation of work completed, including component histories and repair methods.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments, advancements and technologies, applying this knowledge to improve workflow and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and strong communication skills.
  • Certifications: A valid UK driving licence is required, and a qualification in a relevant field is desirable.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus benefits package including overtime pay and opportunities for career progression.
