Deputy Head of School for O&G and Quality Lead

You will support the Head of School to be responsible for the overall quality, management and supervision of programmes within the School. This includes ensuring all programmes meet standards defined by NHS England, the GMC and Royal College.

Working closely with the Head of School, NHS England's senior educators, other Heads of Schools, Directors of Medical Education and Training Programme Directors ensures each trainee accesses a comprehensive range of experiences enabling them to cover speciality curricula.

NHS England holds a Sponsor Licence, allowing us to sponsor employees meeting Home Office requirements. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route, you'll usually need to be paid at least £38,700 per year or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher.

We require:

  • A primary clinical healthcare qualification and current consultant level or equivalent in the specialty school area.
  • An academic interest in training and education across primary and secondary care.
  • Considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context, including training delivery in service and education.
  • Experience of clinical and educational leadership and innovation, including managing a multi-professional team.
  • Knowledge of the NHS and understanding of developments involving relevant Colleges/Faculties, professional bodies, related NHS organisations and regulatory bodies.
