Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Decontaminator to join our team at York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (LLP). As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all areas of the hospital are cleaned, sterilised and decontaminated to the highest standards.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in cleaning and disinfection procedures, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with our facilities team to identify and implement effective cleaning protocols, as well as provide training and guidance to staff members on infection control procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective cleaning protocols to maintain high standards of infection prevention and control.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff members on infection control procedures.
  • Work closely with the facilities team to identify and address any issues related to cleaning and sterilisation.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. Environmental Health, Infection Prevention).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good understanding of infection control policies and procedures.
