East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) seeks a dedicated Geriatric and General Medicine Consultant to join our forward-thinking Older People's Medicine department at Ipswich Hospital.

We offer full-time, part-time, and flexible working arrangements to accommodate your needs. As we prepare for the implementation of Epic, our new electronic health record system in 2025, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of healthcare delivery.

Our department is committed to providing patient-centered care that spans from community settings to acute hospital environments. You will lead virtual ward rounds, supervise junior team members, and provide expert geriatric assessments, ensuring high-quality care for our older adult population.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead virtual ward rounds with dedicated support.
  • Act as a clinical supervisor for junior medical staff.
  • Provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary ward team.
  • Conduct frailty assessments in the Emergency Department.
  • Support REACT services and the Community Dementia Intensive Support Team.

Qualifications:
  • GMC Specialist Register for Geriatrics or eligible within six months.
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proven teaching and training abilities.
  • Expertise in risk management.
  • Full Driving Licence.
