Key Responsibilities
  1. Marking and Assessment: You will be responsible for marking candidates' responses in accordance with our pre-defined mark scheme, while adhering to our conditions of recognition and examination procedures.
  2. Subject Matter Expertise: A high level of subject knowledge is necessary to apply the mark scheme effectively. You will need to demonstrate a deep understanding of the GCSE Chemistry curriculum and assessment requirements.
  3. Administration and Logistics: You will be required to submit samples to your Team Leader at designated times and ensure that all administration is completed as specified.
  4. Quality Assurance: You will be responsible for ensuring that the marking process is carried out to the highest standards, maintaining overall quality and consistency.
Requirements
  1. Teaching Experience: You will have one academic year's worth of teaching experience within the last 8 years, within the relevant qualification subject, and since qualifying as a teacher.
  2. Qualifications: You will have a degree or equivalent and be a qualified teacher.
  3. Skills and Abilities: You will need to have the ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and have a high level of subject knowledge in order to apply the mark scheme effectively.

This is a temporary opportunity to work as a Chemistry Examiner, with the marking period typically taking place between May and July. The training required to mark as an examiner will take place between May and June.
