Job Title: Senior Design Engineer - Large Scale Structures

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team in Darlington. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the conceptual and detailed design of large-scale structures, including bridges, dams, refineries, power stations, offshore structures, and manufacturing plants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and specification of specialist equipment, particularly related to heavy lifting and moving projects.
  • Preparation of method statements and sketches and drawings using AutoCad (or similar software) and / or by hand.
  • Preparation of detailed calculations, preferably using Excel.
  • Working within a team of 7, reporting to our Principal Engineer.
Requirements:
  • Chartered status within your field.
  • Experience working on or leading the design of heavy lifting or moving projects.
  • Good working knowledge of Eurocodes, particularly EN 1993.
  • Comfortable using CAD software (AutoCad, Inventor) and finite element analysis computer programmes (STAADPro, Lusas).
  • Demonstrable experience of designing specialist equipment particularly related to heavy lifting and moving projects.
