About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Volunteer Coordinator to join our Rehoming & Fostering team in Newport. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for fostering a supportive and engaging environment for our volunteers, ensuring they play a crucial role in our mission of providing love, attention, and support to pets in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit and support a diverse team of volunteers, ensuring they are fully integrated into the team.
  • Work closely with Centre Managers and Assistant Managers to promote the benefits of volunteering and raise awareness of our centre and Blue Cross.
  • Build relationships with local communities and partners, promoting the benefits of volunteering to provide more targeted support.
  • Manage a bank of volunteers, ensuring they have the right opportunities to thrive in their roles.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of supervision or management of volunteers.
  • Good experience of running and marketing recruitment campaigns for volunteer roles.
  • Experience of working with local communities and promoting volunteer opportunities.
  • Strong organisational, administration and analytical skills, including use of computerised systems.
  • Good interviewing and recruitment skills.
  • An awareness of health and safety legislation.
  • Current full driving licence.
