Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Contract Specialist to join our Programme Delivery Commercial team at Yorkshire Water. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing contractual and commercial advice to support the delivery of our projects.

About the Role

  • Provide contract and commercial support associated with project lifecycle from concept phase to closeout and benefits realisation phase.
  • Develop contract strategies for projects ranging from £250k to £10M.
  • Support Internal procurement – mini competition and direct negotiation.
  • Support contract administrators.
  • Assure scope, contracts, and pricing in accordance with the conditions of contract.
  • Support negotiations with contractors, seeking to add value and reduce cost.
  • Internal disagreement management.
  • Lead on payment processing to ensure YW fulfils its payment obligations.

Requirements

  • Professional Qualification in Engineering (CEng), Construction Management (MCIOB), Quantity Surveying (MRICS) or relevant construction industry related experience and qualification.
  • Experience in managing key aspects of NEC contracts in a commercial environment.
  • Understanding of commercial contract management.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships.
