About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Cambridge City Family Support and Safeguarding Team.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and guidance to social workers and child practitioners in complex cases involving risk and safety. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes adult mental health workers, drug and alcohol recovery workers, and adult domestic abuse workers.

The role is hybrid, offering a mix of home and office working. We value flexibility and collaboration within the team, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to shaping our practice and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve outcomes for children and families.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and professionals to ensure effective interagency working.
  • Provide expert guidance and supervision to social workers and child practitioners in high-risk cases.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £45,000 - £55,000 per annum. In addition, we offer a range of benefits, including 6 days of protected time each year for continuous professional development, a relocation package of up to £8,000 (eligibility applies), and access to our Cambridgeshire Academy for Reaching Excellence (CARE) to support your development.

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident, dynamic, and passionate about making a positive difference in their community. As a Senior Practitioner, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, families, and other stakeholders.

You will be a qualified social worker or practitioner with significant experience in family support and safeguarding. You will be familiar with relevant policies and procedures, including the Children Act 1989 and the Care Planning Framework.
