We are a secondary Alternative Provision Academy providing full and part-time education and support for young people who face challenges in accessing mainstream education. Our goal is to provide all children and young people with an appropriate range of opportunities, and we strive to achieve world-class support for young people in Harrogate and the local community. We value inclusion and have a strong reputation for working positively with young people and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
This role involves leading the development of a specialized curriculum for students in an alternative school setting. Your responsibilities will include developing and using active learning approaches, collaborating with school leaders, and ensuring high-quality teaching and assessment within the curriculum. You will work closely with experienced Science or Maths teachers to develop and implement new curricula, leveraging your expertise in educational innovation and reform.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent communication skills, a proven track record in educational leadership, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by alternative provision schools. A postgraduate qualification in education or a related field would be advantageous, as would experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN).
