Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join our Neurorehabilitation team at Brainkind. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and ensuring exceptional standards of care are maintained at all times.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership on a daily basis, ensuring that best practice guidelines are followed and exceptional standards of care are maintained.
  • Assist in the effective assessment, admission, and discharge planning with the service users' care team.
  • Establish systems and processes to ensure effective communication and continuity of service user care, liaising with inter-disciplinary teams.
  • Empower and enable staff to contribute to the delivery of high-quality person-centred care.
  • Promote and facilitate a learning culture within the ward and a culture of reflective practice for all staff.
  • Establish highest care standards to meet or exceed current standards, ensuring that risk management strategies are in place.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all staff recognise the potential for or signs of service user harm, abuse, and neglect, including poor clinical practice, report all such occurrences, and take all responsible steps to protect the service user.
  • Involved in staff recruitment and retention.
  • Support the induction of new staff and take on the role of mentor (where applicable) for students and newly qualified staff.

Person Specification
  • RMN/RNLD/RGN qualification.
  • Two years' experience of working as a Staff Nurse within a Neurobehavioural setting.
  • Experience of managing a team.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Clinical Governance.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Knowledge of NMC standards.
  • Ability and willingness to provide training to student nurses, preceptorship nurses, and the wider team.
