Astute People is seeking a highly skilled Composting Operations Manager to oversee the smooth operation of our composting facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of our composting operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support composting operations across multiple sites, ensuring optimal production levels and quality.
- Operate heavy machinery, including telehandlers, to move waste and materials, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Conduct daily and weekly checks, completing necessary documentation and reports.
- Carry out routine and minor repairs, and organize site maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Ensure health and safety compliance, and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Liaise with regulatory inspectors, and respond to any concerns or issues.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in composting, recycling, or similar environments, with a strong understanding of plant operations and routine maintenance.
- Successful supervisory experience, ideally across multiple locations, with a track record of achieving operational excellence.
- Familiarity with PAS100 is highly desirable.
