We are partnering with a Local Authority in Downpatrick to assist with the appointment of a HRC Operative on a 1.5-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension at the client's discretion. Please submit your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £12.80 - £16.11 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

The postholder will be responsible for providing a safe and effective recycling service at the Civic Amenity and Recycling Centres, in all weather conditions. This will involve interacting with the public in a courteous and appropriate manner, ensuring environmental standards are met and maintained in accordance with site operational conditions and procedures.

Key Tasks:

  • Operate the Civic Amenity and Recycling Centre, promoting recycling to all site users.
  • Handle cash transactions in accordance with procedures, including issuing receipts and depositing monies to a safe.
  • Collect and record prepaid vouchers presented by commercial customers using the site.
  • Control traffic entering and leaving the site, providing directions for tipping and assisting the public as required.
  • Maintain the upkeep and cleanliness of the site and its surroundings, including the site office and facilities.
  • Perform general maintenance of the approach road and verge in the immediate vicinity of the site, under Council control.

Requirements:

  • Availability to work immediately or at short notice.
  • Right to work in the UK.
