This is a fantastic opportunity for a Commissioning Manager to support the delivery of commissioning activities for industrial & commercial battery & hybrid systems and Electric Forecourts®, including electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Documentation: Prepare project documentation, including pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures, to ensure a smooth and efficient commissioning process.
  • Contractor and Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinate and manage contractor and subcontractor activities associated with pre-commissioning and during commissioning, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with project, engineering, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration and effective communication.
  • Operational Readiness Plan and Project Execution Plan: Assist in the development of Operational Readiness Plans and Project Execution Plans, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Supplier Coordination: Coordinate supplier activities for commissioning, ensuring timely delivery and quality products.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Issues: Lead on HSE issues on site, maintaining overall responsibility for ensuring compliance with the HSE Plan and promoting a safe working environment.
  • Hazard/Risk Analysis: Ensure hazard/risk analysis is performed before start of activities, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Commissioning Plan Compliance: Ensure the commissioning plan is in compliance with the appropriate external regulatory bodies, guaranteeing a compliant and efficient commissioning process.
  • Team Management: Manage commissioning and testing teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Progress Reporting: Prepare commissioning Progress Reports and Coordinate all Testing and Commissioning Documentation, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Commissioning Meetings: Chair weekly commissioning meetings and direct weekly commissioning activities with Contractors and clients, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Progress Oversight: Oversee the progress on site, reporting progress on all commissioning activities both internally and externally.
  • Sign-off and Handover: Sign-off on completion of commissioned activities as per manufacturers processes, ensuring successful handover to the O&M team.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Proven Track Record: Must have a proven track record delivering large-scale projects, most recently in a Commissioning Manager capacity.
  • SAP High Voltage Qualification: SAP High Voltage - Commercial and Industrial Sectors (APHV4) or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience and Qualifications: 4+ years of experience as a SAP, including switchgear installations, and a proven track record of 3+ years in Supervising Engineers of operational solar or other industry projects.
  • Electrical Safety and Competency: Demonstrated understanding of electrical safety and competency to prepare electrical safety rules.
  • Substation Commissioning Experience: Substation commissioning experience and understanding of overhead power line systems is highly desirable.
  • Health and Safety Certificates: Working knowledge of SMSTS, IOSH or other equivalent H&S certificate (NEBOSH) is desirable.
