About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team at Bloor Homes - Design & Technical. As a key member of our design and technical team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of our family-run business.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in the production of site appraisals and develop road and sewer designs with approving bodies to solve engineering issues.
  • Prepare and coordinate detailed Section 38 and Section 104 designs, as well as external levels drawings and private drainage drawings.
  • Brief and manage the Foundation Design Consultant and assemble and deliver the civil engineering package.
  • Obtain Section 38 and Section 104 approvals, foundation design approvals, and complete Section 38 and Section 104 agreements.
  • Discharge engineering-related and building-related issues, assist in the discharge of engineering-related planning conditions, and arrange for Section 38 and Section 104 maintenance inspections and bond releases.
  • Attend meetings necessary for the performance of duties and comply with and uphold company policies and procedures.
Essential Skills and Attributes
  • Experience working for a house builder or consultancy, with production of engineering designs and HNC in Civil Engineering Studies or similar.
  • Extensive knowledge of Section 38, 104, and 278 agreements, as well as Highway Design Standards, Sewers for Adoption, Building Regs Part H & BS8301, PDS design software, Microdrainage design software, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work in a multi-functional team and maintain all health and safety aspects associated with Covid-19.
