Warehouse Operations Manager

Wincanton is seeking an experienced Warehouse Shift Manager to join our team at our Rockingham facility. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Warehouse Team Managers and ensuring the provision of an effective and efficient quality service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the operation within your daily area of responsibility, managing a team of Warehouse Team Managers.
- Be responsible for achieving operational targets, goals and contractual KPI's to ensure the provision of an effective and efficient quality service to our customers.
- Manage and motivate the team by giving direction and leadership, monitoring performance to ensure the site achieves high performance levels.
- Ensure the site complies with health and safety regulations.
- Ensure any disciplinary action is carried out following company procedure and aim to resolve grievances on a day-to-day basis by leading by example.
- Use the start of shift briefing to engage with the staff and discuss in detail any H&S issues, shift productivity and focus points.
- Foster a culture where accountability & H&S are paramount across the operational teams.
- Manage absence, sickness & holidays, conduct & performance in line with the company & site policies & procedures.
- Safety focused and passionate about the welfare of our people.
- Previous management experience of high-volume warehouse operations, preferably in an automated environment and alongside transport operations would be advantageous.
- Successful delivery of operational and service performance KPI's.
- Experience of people leadership including direct management.
- Previous experience/knowledge of a WMS management system would be an advantage.
