Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Payroll & Assistant Payroll Manager, the Payroll Team Leader will be responsible for:

  • Managing and supervising the payroll team to ensure the successful running of the team payroll.
  • Providing high-quality customer service to employees, ensuring their payrolls are processed correctly and on time.
  • Working with other team leaders, payroll officers, and pension officers to ensure staff are paid accurately and in line with HMRC legislation and NHS policy.
  • Training, coaching, and advising payroll team members on payroll and pension issues.
  • Manual calculation of complex payroll calculations, including cross-tax year tax, NI, and pension deductions and refunds.
