Float Medical Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Float Medical Assistant to join our team at Wheeler Clinic Inc.

Job Summary:

The Float Medical Assistant supports the clinical staff in performing their duties, maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment, and carrying out necessary functions required in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, reviewing medications, and confirming purpose of the visit; enter information into medical records.
  • Perform phlebotomy and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis based on programmatic need.
  • Perform medical support tasks under the supervision of APRN, RN.
  • Ensure all related reports, labs, and information are available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment.
  • Maintain supplies by inventorying stock; take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/MD/APRN/PA/pharmacy calls.
  • Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to MD, APRN, PA.

Requirements:

We require a graduation from a medical assistant program or equivalent experience (CNA, EMT, PCA, or PCT). The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $18/hour, plus a $100 scrubs/uniform allowance. A bilingual Spanish speaking stipend is also available.

Schedule:

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, no weekends or holidays.

Benefits:

This role provides an estimated annual salary of around $37,440 based on 40 hours per week and 52 weeks per year.
