We are seeking a Maths Education Specialist to join our team at Barnardo's Employment, Training and Skills Yorkshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Maths Functional skills and GCSE to young people aged 14-24 and apprentices.

The role will involve developing and ensuring quality delivery of all Maths qualifications on all learning programmes that enable young people to achieve and progress into a positive destination.

The ideal candidate will have the skills and experience to teach young people in maths and will be able to offer relevant and appropriate Maths learning to young people with a range of learning needs.

The Maths Education Specialist will work closely with the team to ensure the highest possible standard of service delivery through the maintenance and monitoring of individualised learning programmes.

The role is a full-time position and the successful candidate will be required to work at one of our Collaboration Hubs or any combination of these.

We offer a range of benefits including 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing after 5 years service, and access to a Group Personal Pension with a matched 4% or 6% contribution from Barnardo's.

The Maths Education Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Developing and ensuring quality delivery of all Maths qualifications on all learning programmes that enable young people to achieve and progress into a positive destination.
  • Ensuring the highest possible standard of service delivery through the maintenance and monitoring of individualised learning programmes.
  • Meeting the highest possible standard of service delivery required following OFSTED guidelines through the development, maintenance and monitoring of tailored training programmes.
  • Undertaking a robust assessment to identify young people's needs, appropriate levels and record progress of achieved towards their goals.
  • Offering relevant and appropriate Maths learning to young people with a range of learning needs, in order to increase their confidence and employability.
