Role Overview

The Reconciliation and Control Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent attention to detail. The team is responsible for managing circa 200 mid-month and month-end bank reconciliations, including the main Lloyds account reconciliation using dedicated software. Daily requests are processed via a workflow tool to maintain supplier bank details, assist in the process of tenant refunds, movement of cash, management of daily float, and opening/closing of bank accounts. The team also works with problem owners of unreconciled bank transactions to resolve and reconcile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete bank account reconciliations within the required time frames and work with problem owners to resolve unreconciled transactions.
  • Process daily requests received to maintain supplier bank details, manage user access across various bank accounts, and open/close accounts as directed.
  • Identify where movement of cash is required and action (deposit refunds, tenant refunds, or payment to clients).
  • Daily reconciliation of Client Balances V Postings.
  • Investigate and respond to internal and external queries.
  • Complete training on the main bank reconciliation and assist to clear unreconciled items.

Key Skills

  • Experience of working in a high-volume, fast-paced finance environment.
  • Knowledge of completing Bank Reconciliations and using banking software.
  • Able to work to and achieve set deadlines.
  • Experience of working in a Risk and Control driven team adhering to processes in place while suggesting ways of improvement.
  • Excellent attention to detail resulting in accuracy of work.
  • Able to work as part of the team as well as using own initiative.
  • Professional approach with a Can-do attitude.

Team Overview

The Reconciliation and Control team sits within the Property Management Central Finance team based in Manchester, working closely with the Billing, Banking, Credit Control, and Payments teams, as well as the wider finance function. The team ensures internal controls and policies are adhered to while looking to continually improve by introducing efficiencies into current processes.

Additional Responsibilities

Support the Reconciliation and Control Manager in completing ad-hoc tasks, assist with audit requests, and be involved and contribute to projects where needed.
