Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join our team at the Neuro Rehabilitation Centre, working in conjunction with registered Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. The post holder will independently treat allocated clients, working jointly with therapists to provide interventions for clients with complex needs. The ideal candidate will have a foundation degree in Health and Social Care or equivalent, with significant experience working in a multi-disciplinary healthcare environment.

Main Duties:

  • Undertake holistic functional assessments with clients, including defining individual goals and planning therapy programmes.
  • Provide physical support, including positioning, moving and handling, and functional activity, as well as advice, motivation, and training for individuals, carers, and relatives.
  • Develop, modify, and evaluate resources and ways of working in line with outcome results, client satisfaction, and current research.
  • Work collaboratively with the therapy team to provide high-quality therapy services under the supervision of registered practitioners.

Person Specification:

  • Essential:
    • Level 1 (Band 3) or Level 2 (Band 4) functional skills
    • Work-based competencies or ability to achieve work-based competencies required for the role
    • Foundation degree in Health and Social Care or equivalent with therapy experience
  • Desirable:
    • Higher education certificate/diploma
    • Further qualifications in relevant areas
