About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at RECO Hoist LTD in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in the preparation and assembly of construction hoists, ensuring they meet stringent company and manufacturer standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and prepare construction hoists for delivery, adhering to company and manufacturer standards.
  • Identify, sort, and prepare ancillary hoist equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Proficiently identify various makes and models of hoists within our fleet, utilizing your mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • Read and interpret manufacturers' drawings, including identifying part numbers, to ensure accurate assembly and maintenance.
  • Demonstrate proficient use of hand and power tools, as required, to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Operate a high-pressure washer correctly, maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
  • Utilize workshop tools and equipment effectively, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
Requirements
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge required, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation covering lifting equipment.
  • Experience of using hand and power tools, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to work at heights, with a strong emphasis on safety and adherence to company protocols.
  • PAT testing qualification and previous experience in hoist maintenance are desirable.
