**About the Opportunity**

We are seeking a highly skilled Midwife to join our team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered adult nurse to complete an MSc in Midwifery at Sheffield Hallam University.

The course is a two-year funded program, with 80% of the time spent on distance learning and 20% on campus at Sheffield Hallam University. They will be supported by Practice Supervisors and Assessors, Academic Assessors/Link Lecturers, and Assessment in practice via the national midwifery practice document, the Midwifery Ongoing Record of Achievement (MORA).

As a Midwife, you will provide specialist advice to women and families regarding pregnancy, labour, postnatal period, and infant feeding. You will support women through childbirth, assisting them during unpredictable events during labour. Your responsibilities will include performing normal deliveries, developing extended skills such as episiotomy, perineal suturing, IV cannulation, and vaginal examination.

You will also be involved in dealing with emergency situations that can be life-threatening and competently care for high-risk and dependency cases under direct supervision. Additionally, you will interpret CTG tracing, refer to more experienced staff when necessary, and undertake initial examination of the newborn under supervision.
