A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled Procurement Manager to join our dynamic team at Uniting People. As a key member of our supply chain function, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and excellence throughout our organization.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager with excellent commercial acumen to lead our procurement activities. You will be responsible for coordinating purchasing resources and budgets, sourcing new suppliers, and ensuring effective communication of strategies and preferred partners.

As a Procurement Manager, you will work closely with Engineering leads and Cost Estimation to agree cost targets and delivery of these targets through the project process. You will also be responsible for compiling and delivering annual budgets, focusing on cost management and transparency, and setting objectives for QDCR performance reviews.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing and approving new suppliers
  • Ensuring strategies and preferred partners are communicated effectively
  • Working with Engineering leads and Cost Estimation to agree cost targets and delivery of these targets
  • Compiling and delivering annual budgets
  • Focusing on cost management and improved levels of transparency
  • Setting objectives for QDCR performance reviews
  • Managing escalations from Supply Chain, including root cause analysis and ensuring continuity of supply
Requirements:
  • Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent commercial acumen
  • CIPS qualified or part-qualified with a willingness to study
  • Engineering or design understanding is preferable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent organisational skills for managing multiple tasks and maintaining accurate records
