Senior Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician to oversee and conduct the wiring, modification, commissioning, maintenance, and operation of electromechanical remote handling equipment. This role requires a self-motivated individual who is willing to work collaboratively with the RAICo Workhall Section Leader to prioritize tasks, tackle challenges, and step in as a deputy when necessary.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct maintenance and repairs of RAICo equipment and systems, ensuring adherence to specifications and procedures.
- Operate, test, and set up robotic systems, meeting high-quality standards and deadlines.
- Contribute to RAICo projects by engaging in research and development of new equipment, effectively communicating and addressing potential issues within the project team.
- Deliver high-quality work within specified deadlines, ensuring adherence to relevant risk assessments and procedures for safe operations within RAICo facilities and work areas.
- Take ownership of professional development, setting personal objectives, completing APS reports, and fulfilling UKAEA mandatory training requirements.
- A relevant engineering degree/HND or HNC/apprenticeship or equivalent with significant industry experience.
- Ability to understand and work from drawings and schematics.
- Flexible working attitude able to work as an individual or as a team member.
- Experience of operating in a collaborative environment, with partners and suppliers.
- Experience of operation and maintenance of robots or remote handling equipment.
- Experience of working in a safety-dominated working environment.
- Experience in people management.
