About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estate Surveyor to join our team at JOB SWITCH LTD. As a key member of our Property Services team, you will play a crucial role in delivering a high-quality property service to our customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on Estate Management and Landlord and Tenant Matters: You will be responsible for leading on estate management and landlord and tenant matters for the Council, ensuring that all required records and information are maintained correctly.
  • Deliver a Specialist General Property Service: You will deliver a specialist general property service, engaging customers/stakeholders and enabling them to make effective use of the service.
  • Work with Other Professionals and Service Areas: You will work with other professionals and service areas to provide a seamless support service, liaising with other agencies on operational issues and to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Provide Property Input to Corporate Projects: You will provide the property input to corporate projects, such as major capital projects, acquisitions, disposals, the Council's accommodation strategy, service area property requirements, and regeneration schemes.
  • Manage Wayleave and Easement Arrangements: You will put in place and manage wayleave and easement arrangements for the Council.
  • Negotiate Rent Reviews and Lease Renewals: You will undertake negotiations for rent reviews, lease renewals, and new lettings as appropriate, whether as landlord or tenant.
  • Represent the Council at Meetings and Negotiations: You will represent the Council at a range of meetings and negotiations as necessary to deliver the above.
Requirements
  • MRICS Qualified: You will be MRICS qualified, with desirable or demonstrable experience of undertaking general practice estates surveying roles in a public or Local Authority sector.
  • Strong Technical Knowledge and Expertise: You will have strong technical knowledge and expertise in estate management and landlord and tenant matters.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with customers/stakeholders and work effectively with other professionals and service areas.
