IT Security Operations Engineer (Yeovil)

Job Overview:

DXC Technology Inc. is seeking a skilled IT Security Operations Engineer to join our team in Yeovil, Somerset. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and administration of network infrastructure and assisting in the support of security systems to ensure service level agreements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and administration of network infrastructure, including Cisco switches and routers, HP Aruba switches, Cisco Wireless Controller and Access Points
  • Assistance in the support of security systems, including Firewall technologies and VPN technologies
  • Collaboration with the Cyber Security team to ensure security remediation tasks and changes are completed efficiently
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to respond to users with set service level agreements (SLA's)
  • Providing 3rd line technical support and assisting 1st/2nd line support resolution
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet agreed build standards
  • Ability to explain technical concepts and provide guidance to the Customer
  • Ability to write technical documentation for all aspects of the technical infrastructure

Requirements:

  • Good understanding and experience of network infrastructure, including Cisco and HP
  • Good understanding and experience of Firewall technologies and VPN technologies
  • Knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NPS
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills, along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to work as part of an onsite team and also work with a remote team
  • Good project management skills
  • Network monitoring tools and performance monitoring (Nagios, Cacti, NeDi)
  • ITIL certification
  • Valid UK driving license and SC Cleared or eligible and prepared to attain SC Clearance
