Trial Balance is a highly successful and reputable firm of accountants with a strong presence in the region. We are committed to delivering exceptional services to our clients and are now seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join our Exeter office.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Audit Senior to lead our audit team and work closely with clients to deliver high-quality audit services. The successful candidate will have a strong background in statutory audits, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Statutory Audits: Plan and complete statutory audits of corporate clients, both on-site and in the office, ensuring all audit procedures are followed.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the audit team on-site and supervise the work of less experienced team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, including non-accounting employees, and provide regular updates on audit progress.
  • Technical Expertise: Highlight technical or client-specific issues and provide possible solutions, ensuring that all audit work is of the highest quality.
  • Reporting: Produce high-quality work for Manager and/or Partner review, ensuring that all reports are accurate and timely.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) or part-qualified with relevant experience.
  • Experience: Statutory audit experience, gained in a public practice environment, ideally including experience of group audits and preparing consolidated financial statements.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in using automated audit software and computer-based accounts and tax compilation programmes.
