Job Description


We are seeking an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join us on a Major Project at Devonport dockyard in Plymouth, Devon. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring environmental issues are identified and managed effectively by the project team.



Key Responsibilities



  • Contribute to environmental inspection and auditing schedule, identify environmental issues, and support the project team in remedial measures.
  • Support the maintenance of the JV Environmental Management System.
  • Implement the Environmental Management System and support the project team in delivery.
  • Carry out deep dive audits into environmental processes and legislation.
  • Manage environmental incident reporting and investigation and support the project team in remedial measures.
  • Develop and support the delivery of Environmental and Sustainability Training.
  • Support the development of RAMS.
  • Advise and guide project team in the implementation and maintenance of the EMS.
  • Develop and provide project environmental training.
  • Assist in incident investigations and reporting.
  • Encourage near miss reporting and identify trends.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and contractual requirements onsite.
  • Review method statements.


Required Skills and Qualifications


We are looking for someone who is academically qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction or Environmental related fields (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng). Experience of similar roles, preferably in the relevant sector (e.g., Nuclear and Defence), is preferred.
