Job Title: Python Developer (Software Engineer)

We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer (Software Engineer) to join our team at Joseph Harry Ltd in London. As a Python Developer (Software Engineer), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our in-house built Fixed Income attribution application.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have strong experience as a Python Developer/Software Engineer and excellent Python skills. You will also have experience working in Fixed Income (rates, credit, bonds, ABS) and some Front End ability (Vue, React or Angular good but not necessary). Agile experience is also required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain our in-house built Fixed Income attribution application.
  • Work closely with the portfolio managers and credit analysis team to ensure the application meets their needs.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and prioritize new features and improvements.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, following best practices and coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Desirable Skills
  • AWS or GCP experience.
  • Buy-side experience.
  • Data tools such as Glue, Athena, Airflow, Ignite, DBT, Arrow, Iceberg, Dremio.
  • Fixed Income performance, risk, or attribution experience.
  • TypeScript and Node experience.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £95k - £115k, plus 10% bonus and 10% pension. You will also have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment with a start-up/fintech attitude towards technology.

We have a hybrid-working set up that requires the team to be in the office 1-2 times a week. The tech environment is very new and will soon include exposure to the following: Glue, Athena, Airflow, Ignite, DBT, Arrow, Iceberg, Dremio.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of 8 and contribute to the growth and development of our in-house built Fixed Income attribution application.
