About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Food Technology Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school in Northumberland. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated educator to inspire students in the culinary arts and support their personal and academic growth.

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the food curriculum and the ability to deliver engaging lessons that bring food technology to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Planning: Develop and deliver high-quality lessons in Food Technology to students of varying abilities and ages.
  • Culinary Skills Development: Foster students' understanding of nutrition, cooking techniques, and food safety.
  • Inclusive Learning Environment: Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Assessment and Progress Tracking: Assess, record, and report on students' progress and development.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments and staff to create a cohesive learning experience.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in the UK.
  • Experience: Experience teaching Food Technology, preferably in a secondary school setting.
  • Classroom Management: Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students in practical learning.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Up-to-date knowledge of the UK curriculum in Food Technology.
  • Passion for Teaching: A passion for teaching and inspiring young learners in culinary arts.
