Consultant Urologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urology Consultant to join our team at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS FT. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality urological care to patients from South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in urology, with experience in handling complex urological cases. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment, providing seamless care to patients across all Trust sites.

The department is actively involved in teaching and training of junior medical staff and healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the delivery and development of Urology services, working closely with other consultant colleagues to deliver high-quality care.

As a Urology Consultant, you will be responsible for:

• Maintaining the highest clinical standards in the care of patients with urological problems
• Providing out-patient and in-patient care for patients with urological problems and cancer
• Providing 24/7 acute urology on-call service as per on-call rota
• Sharing with colleagues the responsibility for the management of the department
• Participating actively in Clinical Audit and Clinical Governance work to ensure continual improvements in the quality and safety of care

The successful candidate will have:

• FRCS Urology or equivalent qualification
• Experience of and enthusiasm for clinical teaching of postgraduate doctors and non-medical staff
• Ability to offer expert clinical opinions on a range of problems within urology
• Wide-based experience in urology and ability to perform trans-perineal prostate biopsies
