About the Role:
We are seeking skilled CNC Milling Programmers to join our team to control the production of programs and conforming parts on our machines, ensuring that we meet our customers' expectations of quality and delivery.
As a CNC Milling Programmer, you will work with our Production Manager, Setter/Operators, and other team members to promote a right-first-time approach to all tasks within the department.
You will adhere to our techniques, comply with our practices, and promote a continuous improvement ethos within the business.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Create programs for our CNC machines from models and drawings using CAD/CAM packages for offline programming and online programming on the machines.
- Specify/select the correct tooling to manufacture the part using the most efficient processes.
- Specify/select the correct work holding system to manufacture the parts.
- Safely operate/use the machine.
- Load programs onto the machine and select the defined tooling and set it with the correct offsets.
- Conduct in-process inspection of parts being produced by the machine they are setting and operating.
- Produce conforming parts to the drawings.
- Complete deburring operations as required.
- Change inserts, tools offsets when required.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
- Use the SFDC (Shop Floor Data Collection) to clock on and off the jobs accurately.
- Report non-conforming parts on SFDC and to the team leader.
- Suggest improvements to the program/tooling that will improve the productivity/quality of the parts or process.
- Conduct part marking when required.
- To be able to use all relevant Metrology Equipment.
- To be able to use CMM Measuring Equipment. (training given if required)
- Be the subject matter expert in CNC machining on lathes.
- Help train and mentor trainee setter/operators, operators, and apprentices.
- Use best practice to increase the efficiency, productivity, and quality of the programs for the machines.
- Suggest improvements to work holding, tooling, machinery, and processes to increase productivity and adherence to customer requirements and satisfaction.
- Maintain the machinery as instructed.
- Work as an active team member and provide cover for other team members when required.
About You:
- Minimum of 5 years experience of programming Fanuc CNC/Siemens Controls.
- Minimum 5 years setting and operating CNC Mills. This is a role that needs skilled programmers/setters.
- You must have a reliable commute to work and live in commutable distance to Daniel Owen Ltd.
Your Package:
Overtime is available at 1.33 x the hourly rate.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: per hour
Expected hours: 42.5 per week (we pay the 30 break per day which is why it is 42.5 Hrs)
