Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Cost Control Manager to join our team at Turner & Townsend Group. As a key member of our cost management team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cost management services to our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost management, with experience working on complex projects in the build construction arena, ideally within property and real estate sectors.

With a passion for delivering results and a drive to succeed, you will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals.

About the Role

  • Deliver high-quality cost management services to clients, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and on time.
  • Work closely with clients, project managers, and other consultants to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and implement cost control processes, including estimating, cost planning, and tendering.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives, identifying opportunities to grow revenue and expand our services.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Estimating and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan, utilising the relevant cost management tools and services.
  • Tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, producing the preliminaries, tender analysis, producing the tender report, and compiling the contractual documents.
  • Conducting the role of contract administrator, including dealing effectively with post-contract cost variances and the change control processes.
  • Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects.
  • Producing monthly post-contract cost reports via our Cost Control App and presenting them to the client.
  • Negotiating and agreeing final accounts.
  • Interfacing with the client, Project Manager, and other consultants, at all project stages.

Requirements

  • Working towards or recently achieved Chartered Status (MRICS, ACostE, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in cost management, with a strong understanding of industry practices and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools, including cost management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
