Speed Assessment Officer Position

Venesky Brown's client, a public sector organisation, is seeking a highly skilled Speed Assessment Officer for an initial 12-month contract. This role will be based in Lochgilphead with the option to work remotely. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of speed limit plans and relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review proposed speed limit plans across the network, including liaison with Traffic and Development Officers.
- Procure pre-implementation traffic and speed surveys, using a 10% sample of identified streets.
- Produce schedules for Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTROs) to implement the 20mph trial period.
- Amend GIS mapping to reflect agreed 20mph trial.
- Assist Traffic team in implementing TTROs within 6 months of project commencing.
- Analysis during the trial period, including feedback from communities, Members, business, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
- HND, Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or similar.
- Equivalent experience may be accepted if evidenced.
- Desirable: Membership of an appropriate Institution.
- 3 years' experience in a technical role in roads or traffic environment.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to produce GIS mapping of speed restrictions.
- Salary: up to £300/day.
