About the School

We are working with a successful Alternative Provision school in Hertfordshire, which is looking for an experienced Outreach Worker to join their team. The school provides first-class education to children who cannot cope with mainstream education and has a prevention team that attempts to support students at risk of being excluded from mainstream education via its Outreach Workers.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in schools, preferably in a pastoral or support role, and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • To work with students who are struggling in mainstream education and provide support to help them regain their confidence and love of learning.
  • To work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop strategies to support students in achieving their full potential.
  • To provide pastoral care and support to students, including helping with personal and emotional issues.

What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working in schools, preferably in a pastoral or support role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong ability to build relationships with students, teachers, and other stakeholders.
  • A willingness to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
