Job Overview
Leviat EU is seeking a skilled Buyer to join our UK procurement team based at our Deeside office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maximizing purchasing performance, controlling inventory levels, and maintaining customer service excellence.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain a stable supply of key materials, leveraging volume purchasing benefits.
- Develop and implement supplier strategies to drive business growth.
- Meet target costs and optimize purchasing decisions.
- Conduct strategic sourcing activities, utilizing established business tools and templates.
- Support the development and communication of a sourcing strategy to shape purchasing decisions.
- Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Monitor market trends and supply chain strategies to stay ahead of the competition.
- Provide in-depth analysis on costs and review cost reduction activities to drive business efficiency.
- Collaborate with the procurement function to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage contractual relationships with key suppliers to mitigate business risk.
- Identify and develop synergies within the organization to drive business growth.
- Prepare and present data for monthly performance reports.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a buying or negotiation role, with a strong understanding of procurement principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with experience in ERP systems, ideally SAP.
- CIPS qualification or similar, with a strong understanding of procurement best practices.
