Logistics Operations Manager Position:

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Manager to join our client's team in Yeadon. As a key member of the Planning team, you will be responsible for managing total planning operations and drivers on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

">

Your duties will include:

  1. Conducting end-of-shift handovers as applicable
  2. Planning all drivers working on the day
  3. Issuing instructions to departments and ensuring that all work is executed as planned
  4. Ensuring that all work is planned and amalgamated wherever possible, reducing resources needed
  5. Managing collection and delivery times throughout the day
  6. Meeting service levels as a minimum
  7. Controlling vehicles and re-planning as required to meet customer demands
  8. Reviewing the day's workload continuously
  9. Answering customer queries and involving your Manager where necessary
  10. Reducing empty running to meet Company targets

Requirements:

">

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Transport Management CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
  • Experience managing or overseeing a planning team
  • Previous experience using TMS (Transport Management System) and Planning systems
  • Experience in General Haulage
  • Ability to manage driver's hours, tacho, and infringements
  • An excellent telephone manner
  • Excellent customer service skills
