We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Formulation Chemist to join our team at Choice Associates Ltd. as a Product Development Specialist. This is a pivotal role that will play a critical part in the success and expansion of our business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the formulation of new and existing products, testing methodology development, and scale-up activities.
- Work with scientific partners and suppliers to scope new technologies and build internal expertise.
- Deliver against commercial briefs, ensuring adherence to costings, timings, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead new product development projects, working closely with commercial, quality, and production teams.
- Utilize technical literature and intellectual property to help shape the NPD pipeline.
- Build understanding of the regulatory environment of our products and applications, ensuring development activities are compliant.
- Build internal expertise to support the resolution of formulation/product issues and as a subject matter expert.
- Provide technical support to commercial colleagues and customers directly.
- Identify new technical and research partners to deliver against company ambition on sustainable product solutions, value engineering, and innovation delivery.
- Prepare and organize laboratory research and field trial data for the generation of internal reports, external communications, technical data sheets, and intellectual property.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemistry.
- Circa 5-10 years of experience in the formulation of new products in the specialty chemicals sector.
- Experience in formulating with surfactant chemistries and emulsions.
- Demonstratable experience of working effectively without supervision and delivering against tight timelines.
- Knowledge/awareness of the chemical regulations arena.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience of working directly with customers to deliver technical solutions and support new product implementation.
